Fostering is pretty easy. I’ll give you everything you need except for fresh produce. Cage, wheel, toys, cage set, a starter pack of the staple, etc.. anyone who fosters has to live within an hour of Austin to help make it easier to transport for vet appointments.
You’ll be added to a foster message group where we will have you send weekly picture updates as well as weights and behavior notes. You can foster for as long as you’d like. Once the gliders are ready for adoption, we will have anyone who is interested in adopting meet them at your place.
There’s also a foster-to-adopt option. The way that works is you would pay a $100 non refundable deposit that goes toward the adoption fee. I’d give you 1-2 months to decide if they’re right for your household. During that time you would be asked to follow the same protocol as a normal foster. After the 1-2 month trial period, if you don’t think you want to adopt, you can continue to foster until we find a home for the gliders, or you can bring them back here with all of their stuff.
If you do want to adopt, you can buy the full set up from the rescue, or you can buy everything new and return the items to me. I’ll have you fill out a foster application so we can get you the right pair, and can set up a time for you to meet some.
